For seniors and individuals living with decreased mobility, a fall can have serious and sometimes life-altering consequences. What may initially appear to be a simple fall can lead to fractures, hospitalization, reduced mobility, loss of independence, emotional distress, and other complications that affect a person’s overall health and quality of life.
At Hashtag Together Care Group, we believe that education, awareness, and prevention are essential steps toward helping individuals remain safe, active, and independent.
That’s why we offer our Safe and Steady: Fall Prevention Workshop, an engaging, one-hour educational program designed to help participants recognize potential fall hazards and learn practical ways to reduce their risk of falling.
What Is the Safe and Steady Workshop?
Safe and Steady is a community-focused fall prevention workshop held monthly at local community centers, libraries, and participating organizations.
This informative and interactive session helps seniors, individuals with decreased mobility, caregivers, and other interested community members better understand fall risks and explore practical strategies for improving everyday safety.
Workshop topics may include:
- Recognizing Fall Hazards: Identifying common risks at home and in the community.
- Creating Safer Living Spaces: Learning ways to reduce tripping hazards and improve home safety.
- Supporting Safe Mobility: Understanding the importance of moving carefully and recognizing situations that may increase fall risk.
- Building Fall Prevention Awareness: Identifying everyday habits and environmental factors that may contribute to falls.
- Protecting Independence: Understanding how fall prevention can support confidence, mobility, and quality of life.
- Encouraging Proactive Safety: Helping participants recognize when additional support, assistive devices, or professional guidance may be beneficial.
